Are the pods En-suite? I don’t like to have to go to a shower / toilet block
Yes, all 4 pods have en-suite shower, wc & basin room, so no trotting across a field in the middle of the night.
What do we need to bring with us?
Just yourselves, personal toiletries, clothes some food. We are proud that our pods are very well equipped and should provide everything you need for your stay.
Do we need to bring Towels and sheets?
No, we provide quality linens for each bed and 2 towels for each guest.
Do you have a Travel cot we can borrow?
Yes, we have a travel cot, just let us know in advance if you wish to borrow it. We find guests prefer to use their own cot bedding, so remember to bring your own.
We can also loan you a high chair if needed.
What cooking facilities are there? Do you have a hob?
In the pods are a microwave, single electric hob, kettle, toaster and Fridge with freezer box
Outside each has a Charcoal BBQ with a single use bag of charcoal, a Firepit with some wood, and eco firelighters. More are available to purchase in our on-site shop.
There are pots, pans, utensils, cutlery, condiments, olive oil, salt & pepper, Tea & Coffee, washing up liquid
We also provide:
Soap, Eco shampoo & conditioner, body moisturiser, books, games, a night-light, maps & hiking books plus so much more…… you don’t need to bring everything with you.
We will be arriving late, is that Ok?
Yes, arrive anytime after 3pm to suit yourselves. Don’t worry if you are arriving late as it is self check-in via a coded key box, which you will have details of before you arrive. Everything will be ready for you and the pod temperature will be set to be comfortable for your arrival.
Are there any shops nearby?
Yes, we have a small on-site shop and there is a Post Office with Convenience store 0.5 miles away, Wirksworth Town centre is less than 1 mile away, with a Co-op Supermarket and fuel station, Kens Minimarket, Jay’s convenience and organic store, Derby Road stores and Mitchells Artisan Butchers where you can buy food and drinks etc
There are many other types of independent shops to explore too.
You say you are eco-friendly, does that mean in terms of comfort?
We are proud to be a net zero glampsite, our pods run on solar power generated onsite but out of sight. The pods are run solely on electric, heated and are insulated so cosy for use all year round. They are ensuite, have lovely linens that are professionally laundered, the furniture and beds are super comfortable, the décor is stylish and we proudly maintain them to the highest standards. The sewage treatment plant is environmentally friendly and so are the products we supply. We plant more trees every year, use local people, promote all things local. It’s luxury and Eco, it’s who we are and what we do.
You say you live nearby? I like the security of knowing someone is nearby in case of an issue
Yes we live very close by, in the trees and out of sight to give you and us privacy but we are there should you need us. We fully respect your privacy and will not intrude, we are in the background if you should need us, want a chat etc.
Are there any restaurants, Pubs and Café’s close by?
Yes in Wirksworth town centre ( approx. 1 mile ) there are several cafes, bubble tea shops, to sit in or takeaway. There is Otto, Sour Cow, Willow blossom, the Dining Room, Le Mistral, little red sandwich shop.
Pubs like the Hope & Anchor also do food, The Feather Star @ The Red Lion is a quirky and friendly pub and Dom’s Pan Asian street food is there too. The Royal Oak is a cosy, timeless local pub and then there is the Limekiln pub too. Felice Vino is a little wine-bar serving antipasto with drinks.
Restaurants – Le Mistral French Bistro, No 5 Market Place, Hope & Anchor, Aroi Aroi Thai café.

Are you a family friendly site?
Yes we are family friendly. It is a safe space for families. Paul and Sarah are DBS checked too.
Is there a play area?
Yes, there is a play field with a football goal, balls, racquets, cricket bats, frisby plus lots more all fenced and safe plus there is a picnic bench too.
We have and electric Car – do you have an EV charger on-site? If so how do we pay?
Yes we have 1 EV charger
It is operated by TAP electric, scan the QR code above the charger or download the TAP App and it will lead you through it.
We are coming in multiple cars, is there plenty of parking?
Yes, we have onsite parking for up to 12 vehicles
Can friends/ family visit us whilst we are staying?
Yes of course, you are welcome to bring them in the daytime, so long as they depart before nighttime so as not to disturb other guests staying
Do you accept pets?
No. We absolutely adore animals, but unfortunately we’re unable to welcome pets to 3Trees Glamping.
We are fortunate to share our special corner of the Derbyshire countryside with lots of wonderful wildlife, as well as our resident Alpacas, and we need to keep the environment safe and comfortable for them.
I see you have Alpacas, can we meet them ?
Yes we have 4 very friendly Alpacas who live here with us. You are very welcome to meet them and help feed them if you like. We will give you a brief introduction, some Health and safety info, tell you their names and facts whilst you feed them. We will let you know the feeding times so you can join us. If you are unable to make those times then we will try to arrange (if possible) a different time to suit you.
Can I come by bus?
Yes, you can come by bus, we have bus stops very nearby with regular services.
Is there a local market or Farmers Market nearby?
Yes market day is every Tuesday morning and there is a Fabulous and vibrant Farmers Market held the 1st Saturday every month
Do the pods have WIFI?
Yes the pods have free WIFI
Can we watch films etc on the TV in the pods?
Yes, the pods each have a smart TV with all the usual apps. If you wish to watch your subscription channels like Netflix and Amazon Prime, just input your own account and watch your own films etc. Just remember to delete when you leave or message us and we will if you forget.
Are the pods warm and heated?
Yes the pods are warm and cosy for all year round use. They are well insulated and heated by IR electric radiators.
Do you provide shampoo etc?
Yes we provide Miniml Eco friendly and Vegan, refillable shampoo, conditioner, hand wash and washing up liquid. There are mini soaps too and body lotion.
I have mobility issues, do any of your pods cater for wheelchair users or those less mobile?
Yes, Damson pod has an accessible ramp up to the decked area and he double doors open and have a low threshold for easy access. The shower room is not large enough to be accessible but we have a separate accessible wet-room with raised WC with rail and grab handles , lower sink and a shower seat. This is located next to the shop and close to Damson pod.
Do you have hot tubs?
No. You won’t find hot tubs, and that is very much by design. We have created 3Trees Glamping as a peaceful, eco-friendly place to retreat to, slow down, switch off and enjoy the peace of the countryside.
Hot tubs use significant amounts of energy and water which are not in keeping with our eco-conscious approach. Instead we want you to hear the birds, watch the wildlife, gaze at the stars, enjoy evenings around the firepit and simply enjoy the outdoors without interruption.
We are coming for a Birthday/ Anniversary break, do you do anything special in the pods?
We love celebrations here, please do let us know in advance and we will see what we can do.
If you would like something special organising like a celebration cake, we have contacts locally that we can organise something with ( at cost) and have it delivered. Just ask.
Can we book the whole site for a group of family / friends? If so how many people can you accommodate?
Yes we are very popular for accommodating groups of family/ friends who wish to have the site to themselves.
We have 4 pods, each pod sleeps 4 guests in a double and 2 singles, so max total number of guests is 16.
We are unable to host hen or stag parties though because we are a quiet site.
Do you provide tea, coffee, sugar, milk, snacks etc?
Yes we provide a box of local tea, a selection of specialty teas, some coffee bags, a bottle of milk in the fridge and a soft drink per person. There are some snacks provided too, all part of our complimentary welcome pack.
I have allergies/ dietary preferences, do your welcome snacks reflect my needs?
Yes, just let us know in advance about your needs / preferences/ allergies and we will adjust our offering to suit you, we like to make sure everyone feels safe and considered.
Are there any good walks nearby?
We have lots of public footpaths nearby and fab hikes in any direction. You will find maps in your pod as well as some hiking books that you can borrow. There are so many to choose from hikes near water, historic, disused railway trails, beauty spots, child friendly, challenging hills, valleys and Dales, river walks, historic houses, etc etc
Are there any cycling trails nearby?
Yes, there is Carsington water Reservoir nearby with a circular trail around it and has café stop, pub stop and playpark en-route.
The High Peak trail is a disused railway track that is popular for cycling, hiking & horse riding, it is free from cars so great for children. Other similar trails are the Tissington Trail and Monsal Trail.
If you don’t have your own bikes then you can hire them locally too.
Are there any Water-sports centres nearby?
Yes Carsington water has a water-sports centre where you can hire equipment as well a cycle hire and is approx. 5 miles to the visitor centre. There is plenty of parking, cafes, shops and a park too.

How far are you from the Peak District?
We are located on the southern edge of the peak district National Park, we are in the Derbyshire Dales, roughly 2 miles south of the southern national park boundary. We are a great location for exploring both the Derbyshire Dales and the Peak District.
Is Alton Towers and other family friendly attractions nearby?
Yes, Alton Towers theme park is a very popular local attraction, just over the boarder in Staffordshire, just 20 miles and approx. 40 minute car journey. We are a popular choice for accommodating families who wish to visit many of the local attractions like Alton Towers, Gulliver’s Theme Park Matlock Bath, The Height’s of Abraham (Cable Car), National Tramway village, Peak Wildlife Park, Matlock Farm Park, Chatsworth House, Kedleston Hall, Calke Abbey to name but a few.
